So much better! What a fantastic sequel! I loved exploring more of the universe and seeing how things work a bit more. In a story like this world building is so important and Pierce Brown did not disappoint.

I’m an outlier I guess, but I just could not finish this book. I read the first one and liked it well enough and this one started off strong, but it didn’t stay that way. Darrow has a way of completely winging everything and it always…

Book 2 of the Red Rising series. It's listed as a trilogy here but there are at least 4 books so far. This is the continuation of Darrow who is a Red and he has infiltrated the golds, the highest of society to help bring them down. This is…

I read this book to fulfil the goal read a past goodreads choice awards winner (the first book in the series also won an award) i didn't think i liked the series after reading the first book and the first part of this one, and was annoyed…

This was a strong follow-up to "Red Rising," that moves beyond the elements that drew inevitable comparisons to "Ender's Game" and "The Hunger Games" in the first book. There is a good deal more violence in this series than I usually…

Excellent sequel to Red Rising. I look forward to Morning Star.

A solid follow-up to to Red Rising. The second chapter of the series expands the cast and the overall character interaction. There's more action, betrayal and revelation than the first book. Darrow is finally past the introduction phase…

This is the follow-up book to the hugely entertaining Red Rising. Just like its predecessor, this book delivers fast paced thrills, but adds 100% more giant space battles. I'm a great fan of the tense romance developing between Mustang and…

Where the first book was fresh and interesting, the second is just more of the same, which is what happened to the Hunger Games series. Note: Don't read it before bedtime, because there will be too much adrenaline in your body to sleep!

Second book in Pierce Brown's trilogy, Red Rising..... It's well enough written to keep the reader reading. And when it ends, send him/her to the catalog to put the third of the trilogy on hold.

Jerry Garcia sang a lyric that sometimes influences my decisions as it hits a little too close to home. It kills me just a little inside every time I hear him sing, "All the things I planned to do I only did half way." Let's face it…

Very well done. Imaginative and robust. I see these are being made into a feature length film. Good stuff -

Pierce Brown did it again! Wholly imaginative and super engrossing. He takes the series in an unexpected direction and leaves you wanting for more. I can't wait for the final installment. If done right, this series would be a sight to…

This is the second novel, the first being "Red Rising". They were very entertaining and I would definitely recommend them both (third novel is on order). I've been reading sci-fi novels for 50 years, and I don't impress easily. I can't…

Proof that humans should be eradicated by a superior race. Good books and well written for SF. With such advanced technology why the dependence on the individual? Tough nut for SF writers to crack but technology is always dull, people…

Hundreds of years in the future humanity has colonized the entire solar system. The price of this, though, is a caste system for all people, ranging from the lowly Red miners to the god-like Golds who rule land and wealth. In Brown's…

A fantastic book, like Red Rising - great returning and new characters (I love Ragnar!), intrigue and action that barely lets you catch your breath - but what a place to leave off! How are readers supposed to wait for Morning Star??? If…

It's the rare sequel that can not only live up to its predecessor, but improve upon it; GOLDEN SON is one of those sequels. Darrow has risen high following his victory at the Institute, and is both feared and admired. Readers who loved RED…
