"The air was moist, the coming rain telegraphed by plump, gray clouds, and the blue sky fast fading." This is the first sentence in Baldacci's 'Wish you well'. I really like this authors writing even though I'm not a great fan of adjectives. The story line runs smooth, the chapters are just the right length, I never got bored. The physical book had adequate binding but the pages were uneven. I feel the girl Lou's personality had more maturity than one would find in a twelve year old, even for that time period but that's about the only discrepancy I found. The plot, the prose, the underlying history, the touches of ancient Cherokee/Apache self sufficiency; all these work together to make this a pleasurable and unforgettable book.
