This is one of my favourite coming of age movies. This movie dives into the idea of one's "first love". The characters in this movie are still in middle school, their names are Bryce Loski, and Juli Baker. Juli at the first moment of seeing Bryce, decides that he is going to be her boyfriend, Bryce unhappy with Juli, begins to run away from her and stay away from her. This movie is another take on romance, seen from the perspective of young adults. It is also a less cringey, and less predictable romance movie, and has a fresher and unseen plot. The main and sub characters have their own unique personalities. I give this a 4/5, just because some parts of the movie should smooth out a little bit. Sometimes, certain scenes are very choppy, however other than that, this is by far one of my favorite movies. @Lime_Latte of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library This was a pretty boring movie in my opinion. I didn't really understand the point of this movie. It was about two kids who have been neighbors all their life. The girl, Julie, has a crush on the boy, Bryce Loski. Throughout half of the movie, Julie was shown as liking Bryce. Then, after a fight, Julie stopped liking him. That's when Bryce started liking Julie. The other half of the movie was about Bryce liking her. This movie made no sense. The other annoying thing about the movie was that the dialogues were repeated over and over again. The movie showed both perspectives, so all the dialogues were said more than once. That made the movie pretty boring to watch. This movie took place in the olden times, so the settings, and different characters were not unique and were not described well. Although some parts in the book were somewhat interesting, most of the movie was way too predictable and unimaginative. It was much too romantic and a complete waste of time. I would not recommend watching this movie. Rating- 2.5/5 @Vanilla of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
