Add a CommentIllustrations are great but the words are WAY too repetitive. There are only two lines in this story repeated over and over again. Not as fun to read as other books.
The readers in our house all agreed that this one was a little TOO repetitive as a read aloud for our two year old. She enjoyed us reading it to her but was confused about the question being on the same page as the previous answer. When "reading" it back to us she would ask the question first, then answer it.
Perfect book for a child who is just learning to read.
By far one of the most fantastic books I have ever read. The constant search to find the narrator's cat keeps your attention through every turn of the page, you can never just put the book down before reading more. I won't spoil the ending for you all, but it is a shocking ending that may or may not get you thinking that there may or may not be a sequel. Eric Carle uses his words very wisely and should keep being a prosperous author.
