First couple episodes start off strong then settles in to maintainance of gestalt. Which is fine if you like this show. Plenty of plot, if self-derivative; hey, the writers are good and in control, as per. Great fun! (Emmy Rossum continues the cliche acting; is she supposed to be good? very annoying.) Brando said a long time ago that all the acting now is cliched. (I look for the little bit that isn't and am very delighted.) Try it.

The Gallagher family is continually in the midst of major messes in the third season of Shameless. Jimmy continues his relationship with Fiona but he must also maintain his sham marriage to Estefania to avoid problems with the INS. Lip begins a relationship with Mandy and gradually works towards his graduation from high school. Sheila and Jody take care of Karen's Down's Syndrome baby Hymie. Kevin and Veronica try to procreate but end up using Veronica's mother as a surrogate. Debbie and Carl learn some of life's hard lessons. All the while Frank Gallagher is up to his usual drinking and drugging as well as getting involved in some dubious scams. Throughout the third season the episodes are filled with plenty of raunchy humor.
