A good page-turner. Way too much flag waving and chest thumping but lots of action. Not crazy about the president being portrayed as a hair-trigger, fly-off-the-handle kind of guy. (Seems like I am familiar with that guy already and it is definitely too soon for me to be reading about him in fiction.) I wish there was a little more character development along with all of that action but even so, I still enjoyed reading this book.

Excellent story

Somehow I started the Horvath series with #9. Since then, I have been reading them forward from #1, while also reading the newest installments as they are released. Some of the back stories have been a tiny bit confusing but that has absolutely not prevented me from enjoying each book on its own.

95% of 'Takedown'> happens on one horrible day for NYC. The action is constant and intense, but because of the compressed time frame the action is more reaction than the normal, detailed, well thought out plans we've come to know from Horvath, et. al. Frankly, as Tom Clancy before him, Brad Thor scares the pants off me with his prescience and eerie knowledge of terrorism and spycraft.

I had no favorite quotes from 'Takedown', but there is a good guy wearing a t-shirt that declared:

"Guns don't kill people. I kill people."

I'm fairly certain that even the very best of good and great guys couldn't get away with wearing that shirt in 2019. Too bad, but such is life in the easily offended age of America.

Good action, good story with some NYC sites. Action keeps going and going with a positive ending after some horrific scenes.

A action packed thrill ride. Up to his usual standard, with a very plausible scenario for terrorism in the US.

This is the first Brad Thor book I've read, but I agree with Jinx that Thor writes a lot like Vince Flynn. So if you like those books (which I do) you most certainly will like Brad Thor. I've added a few more of Thor's books to my reserved books list. I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars.
