After a slow summer of chasing low-level skips for her cousin Vinnie's bail bonds agency, Stephanie Plum finally lands an assignment that could put her checkbook back in the black. Geoffrey Cubbin, facing trial for embezzling millions from Trenton's premier assisted-living facility, has mysteriously vanished from the hospital after an emergency appendectomy. Now it's on Stephanie to track down the con man. The problem is, Cubbin has disappeared without a trace, a witness, or his money-hungry wife. Rumors are stirring that he must have had help with the daring escape, or that maybe he never made it out of his room alive. Since the hospital staff's lips seem to be tighter than the security, and it is hard for Stephanie to blend in to assisted living, Stephanie's Grandma Mazur goes in undercover. But when a second felon goes missing from the same hospital, Plum is forced into working side by side with Trenton's hottest cop, Joe Morelli, in order to crack the case. Solving the case is harder than she imagined and to make sure the rent is paid she takes on a second job, protecting her mentor Ranger from a deadly special forces adversary.

A solid addition to the series. I am yet again amazed by Evanovich's ability to keep us invested in the Stephanie - Morrelli - Ranger love triangle. Grandma Mazur and Lulu continue to shine. Good thing Stephanie has the blue Buick to fall back on as she is a magnet for explosives. Wish I could have seen a photo of her in the dress for the wedding.

a lot of funny moments, considering the understory was about organ harvesting!

A typical Stephanie Plum novel - blown up cars, crazy psychopaths, flip-flopping between Morelli and Ranger, LOTS of junk food ... And even though I know the formula, I can't pass them up. This was a great book for in between serious books.

Absolutely loved this book!

Better than the last but, not as good as the books in the start of the series. I still have to read them. Ha ha!

I love the Stephanie Plum series, but this one was kind of 'eh' for me. It kept me engaged, but didn't thrill me like some of her previous books have. The one thing I am DYING to know is who Stephanie ends up choosing! Morelli all the way, cupcake!

Enjoyable, quick read. Agree with marilynnebooks, Evanovich needs to quit dragging out the romances, make a decision!

Enjoyable, funny read. Charming Plum and fellow characters always keep your interest although endless unresolved romantic triangle is annoying.
