Add a CommentThis series by Bodie with Brock Thoene came out in the early '90s and probably started my passion for historical fiction. Brock Thoene is a historian and the factual history of the Nazi years is beautifully woven into a great story. Highly recommend.
This book is number 6 of series. I was interested in it because it presented the invasion of Poland in 1939 from the perspective of the Jewish population. However not having read the previous 5 volumes, I found keeping the 8 or 9 main characters quite challenging to keep straight for the first 200 pages or so. Following at least 5 subplots throughout the book was also a bit challenging. And in the end, there was no end, just basically a "to be continued". So as an independent book I could not recommend it. But if you are into the whole series, it is probably decent fiction.
