Stephanie Plum is thinking her career as a fugitive apprehension agent has run its course. She's been shot at, spat at, cussed at, fire-bombed, mooned, and attacked by dogs. Time for a change, Stephanie thinks. Time to find the kind of job her mother can tell her friends about without making the sign of the cross.

So Stephanie Plum quits. Resigns. No looking back. No changing her mind. She wants something safe and normal. As it turns out, jobs that are safe and normal for most people aren't necessarily safe and normal for Stephanie Plum. Trouble follows her, and the kind of trouble she had at the bail bonds office can't compare to the kind of trouble she finds herself facing now. Her past has come back to haunt her. She's stalked by a maniac returned from the grave for the sole purpose of putting her into a burial plot of her own. He's killed before, and he'll kill again if given the chance. Caught between staying far away from the bounty hunter business and staying alive, Stephanie reexamines her life and the possibility that being a bounty hunter is the solution rather than the problem. After disturbingly brief careers at the button factory, Kan Klean Dry Cleaners, and Cluck-in-a-Bucket, Stephanie takes an office position in security, working for Ranger, the sexiest, baddest bounty hunter and businessman on two continents. It might not be the job she'll keep for the rest of her life, but for now it gives her the technical access she needs to find her stalker. Tempers and temperatures rise as competition ratchets up between the two men in her life---her on-again, off-again boyfriend, tough Trenton cop Joe Morelli, and her bad-ass boss, Ranger. Can Stephanie Plum take the heat? Can you?

Between the adventure and the adversity there's attitude, and Stephanie Plum's got plenty in her newest misadventure, Eleven on Top .

Stephanie Plum has finally had enough. She’s tired of being shot at and having her cars blown up and having the bad guys slam her around. So she turns in her notice and starts looking for a safer job. But this is Stephanie Plum we’re talking about here; trouble seems to follow her wherever she goes. And when Stephanie stops hunting the bad guys, they don’t necessarily stop hunting her.

This is Stephanie Plum! It goes without saying that she and Lula and Grandma Mazur are going to have some insanely funny moments. It also goes without saying that Stephanie is going to have some extremely…um, romantic? lusty? naughty? all of the above?… moments with Morelli or Ranger. You either like the formula or you don’t.

However, this entry wasn’t quite as solid as most of the series for me. Don’t get me wrong. It was just as quirky and laugh-out-loud funny as I expected. The love triangle is just as steamy. But that’s where my problem lies.

I’m starting to feel bad for Morelli and Ranger. I mean, I love reading about them. *Yum*  But after 11 books, I wish Stephanie would just pick one already! I know, I know, that would undermine a lot of the books’ structure. But let’s give these poor guys a break! They’ve been waiting around on her to make up her mind for years! If I knew I wouldn’t miss them, I’d even be advocating for both of them to just move on and give up on her. If she can’t choose, she obviously doesn’t really want either of them.

Regardless, I will always recommend this for anyone who enjoys their mysteries with a heaping dose of oddball characters with a penchant for some kooky antics. I will definitely be sticking with this series!

Stephanie's had enough of the bounty hunter business, so she quits and takes a series of jobs around Jersey. Meanwhile, someone's hunting her with threats, shots, and car bombs. Could it be the undertaker's son?
All the various jobs going to heck in a handbasket are a hoot, not to mention Stephanie telling people she plays the cello, which they now want her to do at the wedding. And things really heat up when Stephanie starts working at Rangeman.
The plot with a bunch of missing businessmen takes a long time to gel, but not really a problem.
I received no compensation, not even a free copy, in exchange for this review. I am not personal friends with the author, nor do I follow her on social media.

It was a nice change for Stephanie to try some different jobs -- although not so nice for some of her employers. . . She still rode along with Lulu and Ranger and even spent some time as a Rangeman employee. Will be interesting to see if she goes back to Vinnie in future episodes.

Stephanie Plum tries to lead a more normal life. It seems that danger and exploding cars follow her everywhere she goes. Good thing she has Ranger and Joe Morelli looking after her.

Always a fun time reading about Stephanie's exploits.

As with any Evanovich book, Stephanie Plum does not disappoint. Plum decides to try her hand at various jobs- though explosives and dismemberment still follow her around! One of the best Plum books!

My absolute favorite Plum (after the first). Stephanie tries to grow and goes through a series of "real" jobs with hilarious results.
