As a pathologist in a major metropolitan city, Dr. Maura Isles has seen more than her share of corpses every day--many of them victims of violent murder. But never before has her blood run cold, and never has the grim expression "dead ringer" rung so terrifyingly true. Because never before has the lifeless body on the medical examiner's table been her own.

Lots of plot twists and suspense as Maura discovers she may have a sister, hence the title of the novel and even a mother who may still be living. The search and mystery begins as she searches for her roots and Rizzoli searches for the killeror killers.
A good pace to the novel and we see the continuing development of the friendship between Isles and Rizzoli. Overall a very good read and onto the next novel.

Get hooked on Tess Gerritsen -she started writing for Harlequin while pregnant and it became her second career. She left her work as a physician - not bad!
