Great book, recommended. Its relatively short.
Though short, this book has a lot to say. It introduces two cultures--Abenaki and Quaker--which may be unfamiliar to many readers. It illustrates the complexity of the Revolutionary War. And, most importantly, it tells a tale of friendship and peace, which is based on a true story. As Bruchac says in the Author's Note at the end of the book, "a true commitment to peace can transcend race and culture."
