He meets a father figure and mentor in I-Man, an illegal immigrant from Jamaica in America and proceeds to follow him to Jamaica where life really gets out of hand. An amazing adventure.
I did not enjoy this book very much. I read the Catcher in the Rye immediately after and liked it so much more. So much shenanigans happens and it was unnecessary. I didn't understand Chappie which was the ultimate problem.
My absolute favourite book of all time.
For anyone who was disappointed by The Catcher in the Rye, this book will make up for those wasted hours of your life that you will never get back. It alternates between the banal life of a disaffected troubled teenager, and an almost fable-like tale that is very satisfying.
My favourite book of all time. I've read it about 4 times since I discovered it a few months ago, and I am reading it again. I LOVE THSI BOOK ISAFOASHFOASHFOIHASHFIOASIHOF
