The Diary of An Isle Royale School TeacherBook - 1988
From the critics
SummaryAdd a Summary
A private journal by a single mother of a 6 year old boy, who taught school to children of a family who lived year round on Isle Royale. The journal was published many years later by her son, with very few changes made. The winter of 1932/1933 was very harsh and she does a fine job of describing how they kept busy, rationed food, etc., until a boat could get through in the Spring, wore layers of clothing when it was -30 degrees, the wild life. It was a very interesing book.
