Book 3 of the "earth" or "homecoming" series. This is where *stuff* starts to get real. We're now off exploring the rest of the world of Harmony, and it turns out there are a lot of other things going on. There is some good military drama on the order of the "Ender" series, with a brilliant general and an interesting character. Political intrigue in which supposedly infallible characters learn they don't know it all, and some delicious inter family drama where issues of leadership, jealousy, and trust play out in interesting ways. Good stuff.
