"It's a magical fantasy novel that I keep coming back to! I love the author, and I love this book! The characters, the magic, the adventure, all culminate into a wonderful read. If you haven't read this book, you've done yourself a…

Well, I'm in love. The Blue Sword is so peculiarly fascinating, almost old-fashioned in its style - and yet, reading it felt like I was coming home. The culture McKinley builds in this book is so rich and deep, it's absolutely gorgeous how…

Robin McKinley's earlier work is a great one, but it's evident that Harimad-sol's adventure was merely a warm up to the epic tale of Aerin Firehair.
That said, after rereading again in September 2018, I feel like The Blue Sword is simply…

I tend to read more science fiction than fantasy, but The Blue Sword is a good example of why I love fantasy too. There’s just a timelessness to a fantasy novel that science fiction can’t really lay claim to. Fiction about the future…

A strong heroine, a plot full of adventure, and an interesting world as the setting define this award winning story. My only wish was that it was longer, paced slower, and that the author took more time to describe the things happening.
I really loved this book. The author created a wonderful world and characters that had me turning pages til the end. The endidng was awsome and left me satisfied.

This book is so unlike anything I've ever read that it kept me turning every page, with magic springing up everywhere, a heroine that is easily relatable to, and a land where anything can happen. I loved the ending as well, leaving me…

This is a book unlike anything I've ever read, and I think that's why I enjoyed it so much. The whole world McKinley has created is so real, so strong, and so bold that it sweeps me up in it every time I read it. Harry is a wonderful…

This is one of my favourite books of all time. There's gorgeous writing and it combines a likable, strong, very human heroine with a land i want to live in and adventures i want to have. Love it.
